This training will cover:

  • Ways in which cultural differences affect treatment presentations and needs
  • Strategies for developing accessible and effective services for clients from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities
  • Practice responding to real clinical examples
  • About resources to support CALD clients with alcohol and drug issues

  • Drug and Alcohol workers
  • Health and community service workers from mainstream organisations supporting migrant or refugee clients with alcohol and drug issues
  • Other frontline workers wanting to extend their cross-cultural skills (basic knowledge about alcohol and drug topics is assumed)
